VI. Month of Incident

  • In 2002, nearly half (45%) of the homicides occurred in March, May, July and December.
  • In 2003, the occurrence of homicides was more concentrated, with 35% taking place in the late summer months of July, August and September. Another 23% took place in February and March.
  • In 2004, 32% of homicides occurred in May and December (16% in each). The remaining homicides were spread relatively evenly across other months of the year.
