- In all three years, approximately 60% of homicide victims were between the ages of 18 and 34.
- The proportion of victims between ages 35 and 54 declined over the three-year period from a high of 28% in 2002 to a low of 16% in 2004.
- Victims under 17 and over 54 years of age were increasingly common. Victims under 17 increased from 7% of total homicides in 2002 and 2003 to more than 11% in 2004. Victims over 54 increased from 5% in 2002 to a high of 8% in 2004.
- In 2004, nearly half (49%) of the suspects were identified as being between the ages of 18 and 35.
