I. Three-Year Oakland Homicide Trends

  • Oakland homicides for the three year period peaked at 114 in 2003, and declined by 23% to 88 in 2004.

“Total Percent Change” in each table represents the change in the raw number of homicides from 2002 to 2004. In some instances, a category being measured may decrease in raw number of incidents, but make up an increased proportion of the overall number of homicides in each year.
